To all my supporters in the Assembly District 27 primary, thank you.
Without your support, I would not have come so close to being your representative in Carson City. While I am disappointed that I will not have the opportunity to serve you in the Assembly, I am hopeful that November will elect quality Democratic candidates to represent us at the state level.
With a campaign based entirely on grassroots support, rather than large contributions from institutions and political insiders, we proved that the individual voices of District 27 are powerful. While we did not succeed in securing the nomination, we demonstrated that "business-as-usual" is not what many voters are looking for.
Although I will not be able to play a leading role in creating a new direction for Nevada, that direction is still needed. I encourage my supporters to continue to work for that new direction.
